Victorian Theology and Religion: Exploring 19th Century English Christianity with Dr. Timothy Larsen
We take a look at religion and theology in 19th century Victorian England with Dr. Timothy Larsen, Professor of History and Professor of Christian Thought at Wheaton College. We start with a historical, social, and political background to the time and examine different religious groups regarding their relationship to the Bible. Dr. Larsen takes us through the 'crisis of faith', how free church movements stood with the oppressed, the nature of religious equality, the disestablishment movement, and the thought of a few significant Christian leaders.
